Leadership we can count on!
Want to know where the Mayor stands on various issues?
Public Safety
Noblesville is one of the safest communities in Indiana. My administration continues to share the mission of the Fraternal Order of Police making and keeping neighborhoods safe. The challenge with growth is to understand what this means for our public safety in the community and what it means for our public servants as they are continually stretched everyday to do more with passion and precision. We have the best Public Safety officers in Indiana; I am very proud of their outstanding commitment to professionalism and service record.
One of my goals is to work with a leadership team who is in the process of making the dream of a Hamilton County Justice Center, become a reality. Prevail, Promising Futures, Good Samaritan, the Hamilton County Prosecutors office, local police, County law enforcement, Sheriff’s office and others have joined together offering input on how a Justice Center would benefit our community, especially victims of crime.
Quality of Life
Opportunities are fun and extensive in Noblesville. From our Historic Forest Park to our newest park Dillon Park our recreational life is boundless. In 2010, trails for hiking and biking have grown to over 71.5 miles of trails including blue ways. We have continued to grow programming even through theses difficult economic times. More kids have received scholarships for camps and classes than any other recent years.
Exercise classes for adults now include Zumba and Yoga. Kids enjoy art classes and nature classes. There is something for everyone at the Parks.
In the summertime, we have increased our concert schedules. Every Thursday in June and July there are free concerts at one of the Noblesville Parks including Forest Park, Dillon Park and the Southside Park.
We have also been pleased to offer with Main Street “Jazz on the Square” every other Friday night, in Downtown Noblesville. These free events are family friendly and not only give us the opportunity to be together as a community, but they are also opportunities for us to patronize local downtown merchants for shopping and eating before and after the events.
One of the highlights of the summer is the Noblesville Street Dance- streets are blocked off and thousands of our closest friends come together to dance in the streets, eat and talk and make memories. An antique car show, children’s games, train rides, and other activities make the event a night to remember for all ages.
Downtown Revitalization & Retaining Business
Main Street continues to be supported by the City of Noblesville under my administration. They function as a conduit between merchants and city hall as well as helping create events to urge people to shop, dine and explore downtown.
“First Fridays” was a concept to help Noblesville Merchants highlight their stores on a night where they might stay open a little longer and be creative with sale events. Each first Friday of the month Main Street has a theme to help bring people downtown. In December you might find people roasting chestnuts on an open fire on the steps of the courthouse and in the summer you will find the ever popular “duck” race on the White River.
Encouraging people to shop downtown is one of the goals of my administration and myself personally.
